When Mike Ferraro and his wife Jeanne wanted to return home to northern Michigan, starting his own construction company was a natural segue from his previous corporate career in the auto industry.  Building and creating things have always been Mike's passion and coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit, the ingredients were set to make for an exciting change of life.

Mike Ferraro started Ferraro Builders nine years ago and the company's size and reputation have grown every year since.  That's quite an achievement, especially during the economic downturn.  Mike attributes much of the company's extraordinary reputation to three underlying principles: an unwavering commitment to excellence, a strong focus on customer satisfaction, and leveraging the building sciences to achieve high-performance homes.  

"Building homes is really the ultimate ‘rush' because it takes a lot of effort to make sure I produce the perfect home for each client.  It's a very complicated process and usually involves the greatest financial commitment by our clients, so ensuring everything is just right, from design through construction is critical."  Mike is personally involved in each home, every day.  "Whether it's during design meetings, helping with selections, or during the construction process, it's important that I am personally involved; I owe this to our clients.  And this is especially important for our long-distance absentee clients.  It gives them an added measure of comfort and confidence with the entire process."

Mike Ferraro is the Past President of the Home Builders Association of Grand Traverse Area and recipient of the Distinguished Builder of the Year Award.
